Heineken Walk in Fridge, part 2

0
Every guy has 'his beer.' Mine's Heineken, It's delicious when it's cold, comes in a green bottle and ha my name in the title. What's not to love? Anyway, after making us all laugh with their first walk in fridge ad, Heineken have now released a sequel, and it's pretty funny.

Now although the walk in fridge ad was funny, I'm almost tempted to say that the spoof that Bavaria made was funnier. Have a look and decide for yourself

Learn the South African national anthem

0
So after the entire internet going crazy about the debacle surrounding the way that Ras Dumisani sang the South African national anthem at the Sa vs France rugby match last week, I thought it might be useful for anyone else thinking of singing the national anthem to actually know the words.

Here's a handy illustrated way to learn the South African national anthem

Hadley's getting married

0
My best friend is getting married soon. This is itself if a big thing and all the usual guys things are running through my brain - "Man Down!" "Another One Bites the Dust" & of course "I should get him a name tag for his chain."

The other unexpected complication in this whole shebang is that he had the bad sense to nominate me as his best man. This means that I get to plan the stag. And of course, the rehearsal stag, just to make sure that we get it right.

I've also been having a few other ideas for the big guy's big day. So I'm thinking that at the church we can do something like this:

(if you're reading on Facebook, go here - http://lesterhein.blogspot.com/2009/07/hadleys-getting-married.html)

And at the reception maybe a little something along these lines:
(if you're reading on Facebook, go here - http://lesterhein.blogspot.com/2009/07/hadleys-getting-married.html)

Whatever we wind up getting up to (or down to) I can guarandamtee that this is going to be one for the photo albums.

What do you think I should get them to do?

I fixed the leaking toilet in our building

One of the toilets in our building is busted and runs on for hours after it is flushed. I've managed to fix it without using a single tool.

John Mayer and Kanye West in studio

0
John Mayer shows his funny side when in studio with Kanye West talking bout their collaboration "Bittersweet."

One of the things I've always admired about Kanye West is his willingness to experiment with different styles, genres and artists.

You might also find this Kanye West spoof funny

Kill Bill 2 (Abridged Script)

0
This was sent to me via twitter.com/the_dre after posting Kill Bill in One Minute

FADE IN:

INT. WEDDING CHAPEL

UMA THURMAN is about to marry a GUY WE DON’T CARE ABOUT BECAUSE HE IS ABOUT TO DIE. DAVID CARRADINE enters the scene, being CHARISMATIC and LIKEABLE but also SADISTIC.

DAVID CARRADINE

I’m here to destroy your wedding and kill everyone here.

UMA THURMAN

Didn’t we already see this scene?

DAVID CARRADINE

Yeah, but we only saw the interesting parts of it, now it’s time for the leftover crap that didn’t fit in the first movie. Most of this film will have this feel.

The pointless scene continues until it finally CEASES, only to be replaced by an even more pointless scene.

EXT. OUTSIDE A TRAILER

DAVID CARRADINE talks to MICHAEL MADSEN.

DAVID CARRADINE

Michael, Uma Thurman is alive. She’s on a violent rampage and yours is the next character on her list.

MICHAEL MADSEN

Damn. How much time do I have?

DAVID CARRADINE

Well, there are a lot of pointless filler scenes in this movie, so you might have a while.

MICHAEL MADSEN

I think I’ll make one of those right now.

He goes to the STRIP CLUB, where he works. Once there, he gets chewed out for being late by the slowest-talking cocaine user in this history of film. Then he gets fired. Then he just comes back to his trailer.

MICHAEL MADSEN

That bought me some extra screen time.

We see UMA THURMAN, dressed as a ninja who is about to totally flip out and kill MICHAEL.

UMA THURMAN

Get ready everyone. You’re about to witness another totally awesome fight sequence like those in Kill Bill Volume 1.

As soon as she pounces, Michael shoots her in the chest.

MICHAEL MADSEN

That was ridiculously easy. Now I will bury you alive in a scene made terrorizing solely by the foley artist.

He does. The scene is interrupted by more FILLER THAT BELONGED IN THE PREVIOUS FILM.

FADE TO:

EXT. THE ORIENT - MANY YEARS AGO

UMA meets CHIA HUI LIU, who abuses her and therefore trains her.

CHIA HUI LIU

You may never know when you need to punch straight through a wooden board with no wind-up room. One example that comes to mind is if you were buried alive in a scene made terrorizing solely by the foley artist, and you needed to punch your way out of a coffin and then somehow through a huge mound of dirt that weighs even more. As such, here is a board. Punch it until you are spiritual and well trained.

She DOES. Just so we know how hard she trained, we are treated to three of four redundant sequences in which CHIA trains her very HARD. Eventually, she is trained. Back in the coffin, she escapes and punches her way through a huge mound of compacted dirt.

INT. MICHAEL MADSENS TRAILER

DARYL HANNAH enters and KILLS MICHAEL using a BLACK MAMBA SNAKE.

MICHAEL MADSEN

Ack! Killed by a snake, after being part of the Deadly Viper Assassin Squad. The irony is so thick that it’s suffocating me! Gulp!

DARYL HANNAH

And that’s not all. This is a Black Mamba snake that’s killing you, which is the same snake after which Uma Thurman is named.

MICHAEL MADSEN

So much..irony…can’t breathe..ack!

(dies)

UMA enters and fights DARYL. She WINS.

DARYL HANNAH

My eye! Gar! Stage 4 complete, please advance to final stage!

(dies, maybe)

UMA gets into her car and drives to see MICHAEL PARKS.

MICHAEL PARKS

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah. Blah blah blah blah.

UMA THURMAN

Aren’t you the cop from the first movie?

MICHAEL PARKS

Bla Blah? Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah.

UMA THURMAN

So I suppose that, before I can fight David Carradine, I have to fight your army of prostitutes, eh?

MICHAEL PARKS

Blah blah.

UMA THURMAN

Really? Where?

MICHAEL PARKS

Blah blah down the road blah.

UMA THURMAN

That was easy. And incredibly pointless. You’re not even an entertaining cameo, you’ve already been in this fucking movie. Whatever. Bye.

INT. DAVID CARRADINE’S HOME

UMA THURMAN enters, ready to thrill everyone with a climactic battle between evil and less evil, the culmination of over four hours of bloodthirsty revenge.

DAVID CARRADINE

You have a kid. She’s adorable.

UMA’S KID pretend shoots UMA THURMAN, deciding she’d rather continue playing her game than run to the arms of the mother she has wished to meet for so long.

UMA THURMAN

I am teeming with internal conflict.

AUDIENCE

At long last, a Quentin Tarantino film that exists on its own, not bogged down with any forced conversations about madonna or foot rubs or quarter-pounders or other banal garbage stuck into the film as filler because Tarantino and his friends think their conversations are so damn funny.

DAVID CARRADINE

Let me tell you about the social commentary of Superman as compared to that of Spider-man or Batman, and relate it weakly to the plot as it currently stands.

AUDIENCE

Dammit.

Inane dialogue is spoken for a while. Eventually, it is time for the FINAL BATTLE.

QUENTIN TARANTINO

Alright. Time for the ultimate swordfight on the beach outside under the moonlight that David commented on moments ago. This will be the final consummation to all for which Uma has worked.

(checks calendar)

Oh shit, we’ve gone over our production deadline. Guess I shouldn’t have wasted so many days shooting all the useless filler bullshit peppered all over this film. Ah well.

UMA kills DAVID anti-climactically.

END

Religious humour is always in bad taste isn’t it?

3
I found this gem of a joke on David Donde's blog this morning and had to share it (cos sharing is caring).

A Priest, a Pentecostal preacher, and a Rabbi all served as chaplains to the students of Northern Michigan University in Marquette.

They would get together two or three times a week for coffee and to talk shop. One day, someone made the comment that preaching to people isn’t really all that hard. A real challenge would be to preach to a bear.

One thing led to another, and they decided to conduct an experiment. They would all go out into the woods, find a bear, preach to it, and attempt to convert it.

Seven days later, they all came together to discuss their experience.

Father Flannery, who had his arm in a sling, was on crutches, and had various bandages on his body and limbs, went first. “Well,” he said, “I went into the woods to find me a bear. And when Ifound him, I began to read to him from the Catechism. Well, that bear wanted nothing to do with me and began to slap me around. So I quickly grabbed my holy water, sprinkled him and, Holy Mary Mother of God, he became as gentle as a lamb. The bishop is coming out next week to give him first communion and confirmation.”

Reverend Billy Bob spoke next. He was in a wheelchair, had one arm and both legs in casts, and had an IV drip. In his best fire-and-brimstone oratory, he claimed, “Well brothers, you KNOW that we don’t sprinkle! I went out and I FOUND me a bear. And then I began to read to my bear from God’s HOLY WORD! But that bear wanted nothing to do with me. So I took HOLD of him and we began to wrestle. We wrestled DOWN one hill, UP another, and DOWN another until we came to a creek. So I quickly DUNKED him and BAPTIZED his hairy soul. And just like you said, he became as gentle as a lamb. We spent the rest of the day praising Jesus.”

The priest and the reverend both looked down at the Rabbi, who was lying in a hospital bed. He was in a body cast and traction with IV’s and monitors running in and out of him. He was in really bad shape. The Rabbi looked up and said, “Looking back on it, circumcision may not have been the best way to start.”

I found this on the College humour website, and I've gotta admit - it's the funniest thing I've seen all day. Also realised that if the bible is to be believed - Eve slept with every man on earth. Nice one.

Santa's Inbox

1
SO Christmas in on the way. i realised this on Saturday morning when I ventured out to the mall to get a few essentials for the weekend away and got trapped in a red, green and gold hell swarming with parents, screaming kids and distorted christmas carols blaring from instore speakers.

I love Christmas as much as the next guy, but I really (really) can't stand Xmas. Anyway, I digress. Rude Bum emailed me this cool screenshot of Santa's inbox, which I thought was too hilarious not to share.

Top ten out of office email messages

0
Props to Dave Duarte for posting these, I absolutely love them and can't wait to try one out :)

  1. I am currently out at a job interview and will reply to you if I fail to get the position. I may be a little moody so be prepared.
  2. You are receiving this automatic notification because I am out of the office. If I was in, chances are you wouldn’t have received anything at all.
  3. Sorry to have missed you, but I am at the doctor’s having my brain removed so I can be promoted to our management team.
  4. I will be unable to delete all the unread, worthless emails you send me until I return from vacation on 4/18. Please be patient, and your mail will be deleted in the order it was received.
  5. Thank you for your email. Your credit card has been charged $5.99 for the first 10 words and $1.99 for each additional word in your message.
  6. The e-mail server is unable to verify your server connection and is unable to deliver this message. Please restart your computer and try sending again.( The beauty of this is that when you return, you can see how many in-duh-viduals did this over and over.)
  7. Thank you for your message, which has been added to a queuing system. You are currently in 352nd place, and can expect to receive a reply in approximately 19 weeks.
  8. Hi, I’m thinking about what you’ve just sent me. Please wait by your PC for my response.
  9. I’ve run away to join a different circus.
  10. I will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks for medical reasons. When I return, please refer to me as ” Sharon ” instead of “Steve”.

Things to do while sick and stuck in bed

2
  1. Get the DVD rental place to deliver. This critical task can be achieved by convincing the guy at the counter that your flu is terminal.
  2. Watch all three Godfather films. Send your friends text messages calling them all paesan. Insist on being referred to as 'The Don' in all replies.
  3. Order enough chinese take out to feed a small triad. Convince yourself that it's because of the free green tea that you get with your order. You do have a cold to nurse after all.
  4. Read all 1000+ items in your Google Reader list. Using your phone.
  5. Finally figure out what the hell Google Gears does. Make a mental note to install it as soon as you have the strength (and courage) to walk to your computer.
  6. Watch all three Lord of the Rings films. Alternatively refer to your friends as hobits, dwarves, orcs, ents or elves depending on their facial hair or the inclination of their ears.
  7. Call the old guy at the chinese place Gandalf every time you phone for an order. Convince him that this is an adaptation of Grandfather and that it is a term of respect.
  8. Pre-stack 10 cups of coffee, cling wrapped and ready to go - just waiting for milk and water. Carefully measure out milk portions and store in the fridge. Proceed to make coffee in record breaking time.
  9. Start drinking black coffee to cut out the milk storage step and in this way further minimize the time spent out of bed. You now make coffee like the Ferrari pit crew changes tyres.
  10. Email YouTube a 20 point list stating why they should reconfigure YouTube mobile to work on your phone. Be sure to mention that if it worked, you could post videos of your amazing coffee making skills.
  11. Finally subscribe to Peas on Toast. Make a note to read it before your Google Reader hits 1000+ items again.
  12. Get around to calling MTN customer line (I'd feel too dirty calling them customer support or customer service). Take a nap while waiting for someone to answer.
  13. Convince DVD rental/delivery guy to stop at 7 11 and get you some cuppa soup on the way. If he objects, remind him that your flu is terminal, and that this soup might be your last meal. Be sure to sound grave.
  14. Spend hours emailing webmasters pointing out all the spelling mistakes you found on their site while browsing it on Google Reader. Make some up along the way, just to see if they'll reply. Email Italian websites telling them that they have some English spelling mistakes on their site. Explain to them that you're paesan, so they should take your word, or else.
  15. Make stoopid lists like this on your phone

Vernon Koekemoer Nandos ad

Here's VK in all his seminal glory as he Vernon's the Koekemoer out of this Nandos ad. The only thing that I keep wondering, is whether that's really Chuck Norris!

I'm not sure that this makes me want to run out and buy a Nandos Double Thigh burger, but full marks to Nandos for taking the plunge, even if they weren't first to do it.
